Sabita Rakshit, DVM

Dr. Sabita Rakshit (Dr. Sabita) grew up in a family of veterinarians, a background that inspired her lifelong passion for animal care. She earned her DVM and Master's degrees in India before pursuing advanced studies at the Onterio Veterinary College in Canada. She later expanded her research experience at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After completing th Educational Council of Foreign Veterinary Gaduates (ECFVG) program, Dr. Sabita obtained her U.S. Veterinary License and went on to practice in several small-animal clinics in the Farmington Hills, Milford and Walled Lake areas. She is now proud to be part of the VetSelect of Commerce team. 

Dr. Sabita's professional interests include small-animal preventive and internal medicine, as well as routine surgical procedures. She is committed to providing compassionate, Fear Free- aligned care that supports both her patients and their families. She is an active member of the MVMA, AVMA and Feline Veterinary Medical Association.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sabita enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling with her family and spending time with her dog, Misty.
